1、 Working principle of vibrating optical fiber

Vibration fiber optic is a high-end alarm system in perimeter alarm systems. It is different from the infrared blocking beam alarm and the pulse electronic fence’s alarm generated by touching the alloy wire. Its working principle is that the laser emits a DC monochromatic light wave, and the light signal passes through the optical module of the optical cable to generate two interference signals. The signal uses fiber optic as a vibration sensing carrier to achieve protective warning detection. When someone illegally invades, the intensity of the light wave signal is higher than the predetermined index, thereby generating an alarm signal.

2、 Composition of vibration fiber optic system

Vibration optical fiber is mainly composed of defense area collector, terminal box, defense area division package, optical fiber jumper, etc. According to different projects, different defense area collectors will be used. The defense area collectors can be divided into dual defense areas, four defense areas, eight defense areas, etc.

After discussing its working principle and system composition, let’s take a look at the alarm methods of vibrating optical fibers in actual operation, which can be divided into four types:

1. Intrusion alarm (directly or indirectly causing vibration)

1. Long distance
Each defense zone (fiber length) is up to 1 kilometer long, truly achieving large-scale, long-distance overall prevention.
2. Passive design
The system uses fiber optic as a passive detector, and the entire outdoor defense zone is passive except for the host that requires power supply.
3. Anti interference
The system adopts fiber optic detection, which does not need to consider the influence of electromagnetic fields and has excellent anti-interference ability. Very suitable for oil depots, power stations, military, airports, high-speed railways, and other occasions.
4. Adaptive
