Wireless temperature sensor monitoring system suitable for switchgear

High voltage switchgear mostly uses metal armored enclosed switchgear. Due to the special structure of the switchgear, its dynamic and static contacts and cable joints cannot be measured for temperature during daily inspection work. Due to the highest load of the entire factory reaching 40M, the equipment heating situation is relatively serious. Currently, there is no online temperature measurement device for the equipment, which cannot monitor the highest temperature during equipment operation in real time. In order to completely eliminate hidden dangers and prevent system shutdown accidents, considering the stable operation of electrical equipment under high load and the extension of equipment life, online temperature measurement devices are installed for important equipment in substations.

Composition of wireless temperature measurement system

The wireless temperature measurement system consists of three parts: a high-voltage wireless temperature sensor, a low-voltage wireless temperature sensor, a wireless temperature display device, and a server end (wireless temperature measurement monitoring system software). The system adopts advanced and mature sensing technology and unique advanced wireless communication technology for high-voltage isolation and signal transmission. By utilizing its inherent insulation and anti electromagnetic interference performance, it fundamentally solves the problem of difficult monitoring of the operating temperature of contacts in high and low voltage switchgear. It has extremely high reliability and safety, thorough isolation, low price, and easy installation.

1. Wireless sensors
Wireless temperature sensors can be installed on customer monitoring nodes at will. The main working principle is that the front-end temperature probe directly contacts the monitoring point for temperature sensing. The output of the probe is converted into a digital signal through the A/D conversion part, which is output to the MCU. The MCI-J sends the temperature signal to the wireless temperature display device through the RF unit circuit.
When the temperature at a monitoring point exceeds the limit, the wireless temperature sensor is not limited by the collection period and immediately sends real-time data to the display instrument to ensure that the on duty personnel discover the fault point in the first time and handle it in a timely manner.

2. Wireless temperature display device
The wireless temperature display device can be installed in the switch room or control room according to the on-site environment. The main working principle is that the AC/DC power supply passes through a lightning protection circuit and is converted into an AC/DC power supply circuit to provide power to the equipment; The MCU receives real-time sensor data through the RF circuit or sets system parameters for each sensor. The received temperature data is stored in the storage chip, displayed on the LCD screen, and transmitted to the server’s system software through communication interfaces such as RS485, Ethernet, or fiber optic.
When the temperature at a monitoring point exceeds the limit, the display device provides two active reminders: a buzzer and LED flashing, and uploads the alarm data in real time to the system software.
For the convenience of single machine operation, the wireless temperature display device provides an intuitive and clear human-machine display interface, and users can set system parameters through the receiver buttons.

3. Introduction to server-side monitoring software
Staff can log in to the WEB query system using pre assigned usernames and passwords on any computer within the LAN or WAN without installing any software. They only need to type the relevant address in the browser.
The time interval for sending temperature data and the temperature alarm threshold can be set by the upper computer software program,

Characteristics of wireless temperature measurement system

1. High reliability
The system adopts advanced and mature sensing technology, wireless transmission technology with digital coding, and unique and advanced wireless communication technology for high-voltage isolation and signal transmission, solving the problems of mutual interference between wireless signals and error correction in data transmission. Accurate reading and high reliability. The sensor undergoes special processing inside and is installed on high-voltage electrical equipment in an equipotential state. It not only has good insulation but also strong electromagnetic interference resistance, ensuring the reliability and safety of equipment operation without any interference or impact on primary equipment.
2. Maintenance-free performance
The system components can perform online self checks during operation, and the temperature sensor will self calibrate during each measurement. The entire temperature measurement network has become very effective and reliable due to the use of a bus type network topology structure. No manual maintenance is required during normal system operation, achieving unmanned operation.

3. Stable and reliable temperature measurement module
The intelligent temperature measurement module uses wireless communication technology to transmit temperature signals. The temperature signal does not require any wiring from the temperature measurement module to the communication module, and there are no insulation safety issues. The temperature sensor can be installed on the surface of charged objects only the size of a matchbox, directly measuring the temperature of charged objects. Temperature measurement is accurate, reliable, and highly accurate, unaffected by other factors.

4. A simple and reliable alarm method
The time interval for sending temperature data (10 minutes to 4 hours) and the temperature alarm threshold can be set by the upper computer software program. The upper computer directly sends downstream commands to the temperature display instrument. The temperature display instrument sets and changes the measurement time interval and alarm value of the temperature sensor wirelessly, achieving bidirectional intelligence, greatly facilitating the monitoring requirements of staff in handling different situations. When an alarm occurs, the monitoring computer can automatically record and display the alarm time, alarm measurement point name, and alarm status. All alarm information is recorded in the database for reference.
