Due to the high-pressure operation of natural gas pipelines, the transmission medium is flammable, eksplozive, and toxic. Once an accident occurs, it will not only cause resource loss and environmental pollution, but also fire and explosion, resulting in huge economic losses and damaging the surrounding environment and personal safety. It is urgent to adopt high-tech means to timely and accurately measure changes in pipeline safety status, and it is particularly important to achieve real-time online monitoring of oil pipelines.

Ndjeshmëria e shpërndarë e fibrave optike technology is an emerging sensing technology that directly uses monitoring optical cables laid in the same trench as pipelines as sensors. It fully utilizes the continuous distribution of fiber optic space, integrates “transmission” dhe “sensing”, and can achieve physical parameter information at any point along the fiber optic distribution. It has the advantages of rich measurement information, accurate positioning, and intrinsic safety. FJINO is based on advanced distributed fiber optic sensing technologies in the industry, such as Brillouin Optical Time Domain Analyzer (BOTDA) and Distributed Vibration Sensing Technology (THE). The detection optical cable is laid in the same trench or parallel along the gas pipeline to monitor the temperature, strain, dhe dridhje (sound) distribution around the pipeline in real time. When abnormal conditions occur locally in the gas pipeline, the distributed fiber optic sensing monitoring system can capture these abnormalities in a timely manner, display them on the distributed curve, and locate the location information of the abnormal points, which facilitates timely maintenance and handling by pipeline maintenance personnel and avoids major accidents.
