The direct measurement method is to embed a fluorescent fiber optic temperature sensor in the winding, and use the fiber optic propagation signal to achieve online and real-time measurement of the hot spot temperature of the winding under high voltage and high magnetic field conditions. The fiber optic thermostat is determined by measuring the inherent parameters (attenuation time) of the phosphor alone, and will not change due to physical changes in the fiber optic. It is a system that does not require verification. The temperature sensor is made of a stable high-temperature resistant fluorescent material and directly attached to the end of the fiber optic probe. The probe is compatible with oil immersed transformers for a long time and has excellent electrical performance.

The measurement data of the fiber optic probe is transmitted to the temperature controller through an independent output and display measurement channel. The working principle of direct measurement is that when the light pulse emitted by the light source is sent to the temperature sensor in contact with the winding through the optical fiber, the pulse excites the fluorescent material of the sensor, causing it to produce longer wavelength fluorescence. Measure the temperature of the sensor based on the decay time of the returned fluorescence, and then process it to display the temperature value and relevant system parameters. At the same time, transmit the temperature information to the control room.
