Due to the high-pressure operation of natural gas pipelines, the transmission medium is flammable, explosivo, and toxic. Once an accident occurs, it will not only cause resource loss and environmental pollution, but also fire and explosion, resulting in huge economic losses and damaging the surrounding environment and personal safety. It is urgent to adopt high-tech means to timely and accurately measure changes in pipeline safety status, and it is particularly important to achieve real-time online monitoring of oil pipelines.
Distributed fiber optic sensing technology is an emerging sensing technology that directly uses monitoring optical cables laid in the same trench as pipelines as sensors. It fully utilizes the continuous distribution of fiber optic space, integrates “transmission” and “sensing”, and can achieve physical parameter information at any point along the fiber optic distribution. It has the advantages of rich measurement information, accurate positioning, and intrinsic safety. Moreover, fiber optic sensing technology uses light waves as carriers and optical fibers as media. Compared with traditional electrical sensors, fiber optic sensors have the advantages of high measurement accuracy, electromagnetic interference resistance, intrinsic safety, compact and gentle design, and are suitable for remote transmission. They are particularly suitable for applications in fields such as power, petroleum and petrochemical, transportation, bridges, and dams. By laying the detection optical cable along the pipeline in the same trench or in parallel, real-time temperature, strain, vibration (sound) information can be obtained at any point along the pipeline, enabling real-time monitoring of abnormal conditions such as pipeline leaks, oil theft, geological disasters, etc. It has the advantages of long measurement distance, continuous distributed measurement, precise positioning, simple installation, safety and reliability, strong scalability, etc. It will not cause any damage to the pipeline or affect its normal production, especially suitable for online monitoring applications of long-distance natural gas pipelines.
FJINO is based on advanced distributed fiber optic sensing technologies in the industry, such as Brillouin Optical Time Domain Analyzer (BOTDA) and Distributed Vibration Sensing Technology (DAS). The detection optical cable is laid in the same trench or parallel along the gas pipeline to monitor the temperature, strain, and vibration (sound) distribution around the pipeline in real time. When abnormal conditions occur locally in the gas pipeline, the distributed fiber optic sensing monitoring system can capture these abnormalities in a timely manner, display them on the distributed curve, and locate the location information of the abnormal points, which facilitates timely maintenance and handling by pipeline maintenance personnel and avoids major accidents.
Características ar distributed fiber optic monitoring system:
1. Real time acquisition of temperature, strain, vibration (sound) distributed information along the pipeline route;
2. Real time monitoring of leakage, external damage prevention, settlement deformation, and pipeline cleaning tracking and monitoring events along the pipeline;
3. Clearly indicate the location information of abnormal points;
4. Provide early warning and event development trends for abnormal pipeline/pipeline surrounding environment.
